Here is the 'Google Doodle' on the search engine's website this morning, commemorating the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team's win yesterday of the Women's World Cup Final championship:

Sure, the story explains that the graphic depicts players, opposing teams, and fans.  But hardly anybody is going to research and read that.  Impressions count, and the indisputable impression I got from this depiction is one of overwhelming blackness projected onto our team's victory. And that just seems a little odd, considering that the game was held in Vancouver, B.C., team U.S.A.'s opponent was Japan, and especially, considering that the U.S. team looks like this:

Drip...  Drip...  Drip...  This kind of subtle, or maybe not so subtle cultural brainwashing (and that's what it is in my opinion) just never seems to end.  It's a small thing in and of itself, I know, but it seems that this kind of thing is always put in front of us, always there in front of our eyes, always implanted in our brains and our consciousness.  Damn, it gets tiresome.
